These guys over at PayPerPost are slowly but surely mastering the art of creating a buzz for their services within the online advertising world.
So they decided to let loose an opp in their system for making us bloggers guess what is their next big announcement. Here’s my spin.
Have they finally managed to grab Michael Arrington of TechCrunch to write payperpost’s?!
Recently there were a slew of announcements concerning PayPerPost with the new segmenting system of letting advertisers putting some conditions for taking their opps. Some of them were like only a certain Google PR blog can take this, or you have to have your own domain name, or a certain Alexa traffic rank, or a higher advertiser rating (I’m a 5 – the highest advertiser rating one can get
). The advertisers can choose any or none of the criteria.
This has proven good and bad for some bloggers. As some get segmented out because their blogs don’t meet any or one of the criteria listed above. But the advertiser has to now pay more if they want high profile bloggers that meet the set criteria. This was done in an effort to attract higher paying advertisers and high profile bloggers to the network.
I have two guesses.
First: I’m guessing their next announcement will have something to do with them securing a deal with a high profile advertising agency, as their previous rockstartup episodes have been centered around that, and expanding more into mainstream media advertising by using bloggers as a new channel for online advertising apart from the traditional form of banner and text advertising.
Second: Their last deal with performancing fell through as they didn’t like what they saw (huge mess there..tch! tch!), so I’m guessing they now have finally bought or collaborated with another service to show more and better statistical data for advertisers and bloggers alike. This would be to measure their performance and hopefully offer more to bloggers in the network in terms of higher paying opps or maybe even custom advertising ventures where an advertiser chooses a certain group of bloggers based on history and performance to go forward with for their online advertising.
This would drive bloggers in the network to already push themselves harder and bring about more advertisers on board. So those who get in on the game early are at the advantage.
The real reason: They are going to hire me to head their European and Asian regions for a salary of $75,000 $100,000 a year (plus benefits and airfare – easyjet is cheap). Ted if you’re reading this I’m available. I speak two languages and learning a third, I know survival French.
So let’s get the ball rolling. What do you think is the new announcement they are going to make?

I’m sure that they will probably just be announcing a deal with a large advertising agency, that’s how they make their money right?

Well I think so either that or Michael Arrington is going to join PPP!

I think I may have gotten it partially right, with the TV Reality Show theory.
Those RockStartUp Opps have been beyond alot of us posties reach for some reason. Now it’s all clear, “TV Fame” is to blame. HA!

Well, like in Pulp Fiction how no one knew why Marcellus had that guy thrown off the edge, the truth is that no one knows what PPP will announce next, just Ted and PPP. But, if I had to make a judgment, I would agree with you on your second guess and say it would have something to do with an acquisition of some sort. But, who knows, it may just be PPP’s way of stirring the juices and getting some reactions. We’ll see what old Tedley is up to soon enough, I reckon.
If it were my world and I was Ted and Ted was me, I’d announce my decision to run for president.

Y’all are way off base, I know what they have up their sleeves (even have photo proof of it), and I will admit, it will come in handy when they give you that job.

Great guess NeoKnight, but with all of the stresses of late and then the success of getting things rolling again over at PayPerPost, I have an idea that what’s coming next maybe a bit more fun! We all know Ted loves excitement and I think I’ve figured it out!
You all know Ted Murphy, well; I hear tell he is going to pop the question to his girlfriend online at “Graceland” on a surprise getaway they have scheduled for next month! Yes, he and his long time girlfriend (who has remained a mystery to all of us so far) will travel to where Priscilla and Elvis once lived and loved to ask for her hand in marriage. Ted has secretly set up everything from the bridal consulting firm who will provide her wedding gown (and the entire wedding party garb) to the honeymoon right there in Graceland! She just thinks that they are going for a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life; boy is she in for a surprise!
To add even more excitement, it will all be pod cast live on the World Wide Web! If you think one proposal is enough, think again, the guests that are invited to the surprise wedding are also getting hitched. Yes, they too are all couples that have been considering “tying the knot” and Ted wanted to share in the fun! It’s “Vegas gone Graceland!” After all Ted shouldn’t be outdone by a SEOmoz guy should he? Tune in for more developments as they are released and find out who the other couples are! Could it be the lovable and talented Veronique? I can hardly wait to hear the news! How about you?
