Rolling in your 5.0

Posted by Hyder on February 14th, 2007

I just had to take this post and write about it. Because I was just amazed with the Mustang since my first meeting with it in Vanilla Ice’s video “Rolling in my 5.0″, remember him! I was what like 10 years old then and since then I’ve liked the Mustang for being just what it is a really powerful cool and suave looking car.

The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9 March 1964 since then the Mustang has sold millions of units on the market. Till today it remains in production after many decades and several revisions.

No doubt it is one of America’s favorite cars and there are many models ranging from year to year and people have been able to add various 3rd party styling and accessories to their mustang’s. But I think the Mustang has transcended borders and you find it sold and cherished by its owners all over the world. My cousin has a red convertible one and when we were riding around with the top down you couldn’t help but press the pedal down a little bit more for that extra adrenaline rush.

You can have a look at americanmuscle.com which has products to stylize your mustangs, here is a link to the 2001 Mustang parts and accessories page.

So what is it that makes the car so unique. I remember being in Miami in 2002 or 2003 and they blocked out this whole section of Downtown Miami for a Ford Mustang owners show. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. They were all displayed in their finery and polished to be as shiny as they could get. Some of the owners even let you sit in the cars to get a feel for it.

It was an experience to get up and close to many older but yet still awesome looking Mustangs. Peaking inside the engines and getting a feel for the raw power is such a rush.

If you ever get a chance to experience the feel of a Mustang by driving or riding in one don’t pass it by.
