Relevant ads with Adsense – Part 2

Ok so in the first part concerning ad relevancy we talked about placing the ad code as close to your content as possible.

I also said that most content sites do insert either a 300 X 250 or 250 X 250 box on the right hand side of the content. The other layout I said I would discuss in another blog posting - which happens to be this post.

So here as you can see there is 300 X 250 box floating on the right hand area of this post, now the other ad layout that you will most probably see is this one illustrated below.

So that is the other most common layout used to insert ads into content sites. Why does it work?

Well it is smack in the middle of the content so after reading a few lines your brain is automatically called to its attention as most people scan through the article, the image or link URL's would be the next area where the attention would be drawn to. Usually there is some wording on top of the advertisement which says either 'Article continues' or 'Advertisement' or similar.

Plus the ads that will be displayed will be relevant to the content written as the code would be in close proximity to the content and specific keywords will help the script fine tune the ads to show and boom more relevancy more clicks more money and most probably a better ROI for the advertiser.

I'm not saying that other ad layouts don't work but maybe this one and the other one I mentioned before might get the most ROI for an advertiser ONLY if there weren't any more obstructing or invasive ads plastered over the site. Much like what you see on most newspaper and an increasing amount of blogs and content sites nowadays.

If you decide to maybe tone down your advertisements on the page and instead concentrate on giving a better reading experience your readers might actually feel compelled to click on your ads, be it image or text, to thank you in a sort of way for the information that you provide.

So go ahead and give any of the ad layouts, or others, a try just don't forget to write kick ass content.

    Relevant ads with Adsense

Get more relevant ads on your site by trying out different types of ad layouts. More relevancy means more click which means more money for you and potentially a better ROI for the advertiser.
