What is this flower?

We had a birthday in the family recently and received this flower from someone. The funny thing is it looks like it's going to eat me if I go close to it. It looks like it has an alien inside of it waiting to spew some eggs down my throat and come screaming out of my stomach and take over the world. So I would really appreciate if anybody has an idea what type of flower this is to comment please.

It looks like a flower from a type of cactus, though I’m not sure what kind. I know I have seen it before, just not sure where!

Take a look at the following website, there is a very similar bloom: http://www.ojaigarden.com/home_gardens/ and look about 3 ore 4 pics down, very similar don’t you think?
