Have you ever wanted to convert files without downloading software, Microsoft – Apple you people listening?
Well you can do it now for files up to 100 MB in size with this Free online file converter available on Zamzar.com. The process is pretty simple all you need to do is get the file you want to convert choose the format you want to convert it too give them your email address you want it sent to and wait. Once the file is uploaded you have to wait for the conversion to take place and then they will email you letting you know where you can download the file from.
The files supported are huge from most image formats, document formats, music formats and video formats. The site is supported through advertisers and PPC revenues so it’s safe to say that the service looks to remain free.
So far the file I uploaded, converting a jpeg to a thumbnail, at the time I started writing this post hasn’t arrived yet. Approx. 5 minutes have past so it might not be the perfect solution for when you need things done like right away.
Update: I got my converted file approx. 2 minutes after posting the above post.

Zamzar is crap. It’s advertised as big and great, but I’ve had it take nine hours to convert a thirty second .mov file to .avi format.
