Ahh, it’s that time again

I used to work in a department store at point of time in my life and frankly I never got the reasoning behind people willing to get up at 5 AM to be first in line to buy something. I mean ok, you save a few dollars and you get great deals but when it comes to the pushing and shoving it just gets out of hand.

I can tell you of numerous times when two women have (it's usually them, men just get it first or something else) got hold of the same sweater or jeans or whatever and then the uh-uh's start. The first one says I saw it first and put my hand on it, the other one says uh-uh I did I was just waiting for the sales associate to ring it up and it just goes on and on until someone starts screaming, everybody turns around to look what's up and that's when the fun really starts, at least for the onlookers.

The women then proceed to tug and pull and raise their volume even more, it usually ends with either the manager intervening and someone walking away without it. But then you have this nasty feeling all day that damn I yelled and stuff now feel like crap. Is it worth it? To me it's not. If it ever came to the point where I wanted something so bad, I either make sure I go somewhere where there won't be a lot of people looking for the same product and it's available - or nowadays just order (or pre-order) it online.

Now if I'm not going to be saving more than a couple hundred bucks, it's not worth it to get up early and get in a fight over.
